Infusing Fashion Ecology with Boundless Sustainable Colors
November 24, 2023
In an era of heightened environmental consciousness, the pursuit of eco-friendly practices expands beyond the norm, encompassing everyday essentials. Multiple brands have risen to the challenge of sustainable fashion, introducing products that artfully blend style with environmental responsibility, providing consumers with fashionable and eco-conscious choices.
Recyclable Materials
At the core of sustainable fashion lies the use of environmentally friendly materials, particularly recyclable raw materials such as discarded leather, upcycled fabric, and waste plastic bottles. Through specialized treatments, these materials are transformed into new bags, reducing environmental pollution and offering consumers products with a lower carbon footprint.
Vegan Leather
Vegan leather is one of the materials many brands are starting to explore as an alternative to animal leather. Derived from plant-based sources like mycelium, cactus leaves, and cork, Vegan leather undergoes special processing and treatments to achieve a texture and appearance similar to traditional leather. By eliminating animal testing and minimizing the ecological footprint associated with production, consumers can enjoy fashion products in a more ethical and environmentally responsible manner.
Edge Paint
Edge paint plays a vital role in bag production, offering robust edge protection and adding infinite color to the bag design. The utilization of bio-based edge paint significantly reduces environmental impact. D&A’s Edge Polymer BIO-Circul®️ Series Edge Paint, made from renewable resources and USDA-certified, exemplifies this commitment. Furthermore, the brand regularly assesses product sustainability using the Higg Index, driving continuous progress toward long-term sustainable development.
BIO-Circul®️ Series Edge Paint
BIO-Circul®️ Series Edge Paint is developed from bio-based intermediates, which is the fermentation of biomass from renewable non-food direct articles, to replace traditional fossil-based raw materials. The biobased contents of these products are determined by ASTM D6866 standard test method. According to the USDA, “Bio-based Products are derived from raw materials such as plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry materials. Bio-based products generally provide an alternative to conventional petroleum derived products.” This signifies that bio-based products are more environmentally friendly compared to fossil fuel-based products. Hence, our production process for the BIO-Circul®️ Series Edge Paint is designed with a strong focus on sustainability, minimizing its environmental footprint and reflecting our commitment to eco-friendly practices.
